Net loss marginally improved to Euro -1.1m (previous year: Euro -1.4m) . Record level of orders in hand worth Euro 7.5m (Münster, 14 August 2001) – In the first half of 2001, UNITEDLABELS AG, specialist for comicware, achieved a year-on-year revenue increase of 61%, taking the figure to Euro 14.9 million (previous year: Euro 9.3m). In the second quarter alone the company saw a 66% increase in sales. The net loss has been reduced marginally, down from Euro -1.4 million in the first half of 2000 to Euro -1.1 million in first half of 2001. The loss is attributable to the seasonal fluctuations affecting UNITEDLABELS AG’s business model, which resulted in a deficient cover of fixed costs from delivery of initial orders to large European key accounts. As a result, earnings before interest and taxes amounted to Euro -1.6 million, and income before taxes at Euro -1.5 million. Cash flow amounted to Euro -0.5 million (previous year: Euro -1.1 million), which represents an improvement of 54% year on year. The second quarter of UNITEDLABELS AG was characterised by a record level of incoming orders, particularly within the key account segment. For the period under review, UNITEDLABELS AG had orders worth Euro 7.5 million (previous year: Euro 2.2 million), which equates to a growth rate of 241%.
