The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Ad hoc announcement – UNITEDLABELS AG – August 13, 2004 WKN: 548956, Ticker Symbol: ULC UNITEDLABELS with above-par operating result after first six months – Revenue increase of 9% – EBIT of EUR 207K substantially higher than previous year – Cash flow increased further (Münster, August 13, 2004) – UNITEDLABELS AG (DE 0005489561), an enterprise specialising in comicware sold under licence, generated revenue of EUR 16.1 million in the first six months (HY 2003: EUR 14.8 million). This corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 9%. At EUR 0.2 million, EBIT was above par in the first half, compared with a loss of EUR 0.2 million before interest and taxes in the same period a year ago. The company also improved its result after taxes, having reduced its loss to EUR 0.1 million (HY 2003: loss of EUR 0.5 million after taxes). Thus, UNITEDLABELS AG was able to emulate its performance of the first quarter. This is also reflected in substantially higher cash flow from operating activities, which rose markedly year on year from EUR 0.8 million to EUR 2.4 million.
