United Labels AG increases revenue in first quarter

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— – Group revenue rises by 9.6% to EUR 9.1 million – Substantial level of incoming orders in first quarter – Revenue in Key Account segment grows by 17.9% Münster, 9 May 2006 – United Labels AG (ISIN: DE 0005489561), a company specialising in comicware sold under licence, raised its Group revenue by 9.6% to EUR 9.1 million in the first three months (Q1 2005: EUR 8.3 million). The pre-tax loss stood at EUR 0.1 million (Q1 2005: EBIT of EUR 0.1 million). The loss after taxes amounted to EUR 0.2 million (Q1 2005: EUR 0). In particular, this figure includes start-up costs of EUR 0.2 million attributable to the UK subsidiary United Labels Ltd. Key Account business produced above-average growth of 17.9%, taking revenue to EUR 6.6 million (Q1 2005: EUR 5.6 million). Within the Special Retail segment, revenue declined slightly to EUR 2.5 million (Q1 2005: EUR 2.7 million). Cash flow from operating activities amounted to EUR 1.8 million (Q1 2005: EUR 2.4 million). The level of incoming orders increased by 17.6% to EUR 12.7 million (Q1 2005: EUR 10.8 million). Thus, orders in hand amounted to EUR 16.1 million as at 31 March 2006, 10.3% higher than a year ago (Q1 2005: EUR 14.6 million).
