Münster, 8 August 2006 – United Labels AG (ISIN: DE 0005489561), a company
specialising in comicware sold under licence, generated consolidated
revenue of EUR 20.1 million in the first six months (prev. year: EUR 18.5
million). This corresponds to an increase of 8.6%. EBIT increased to EUR
0.4 million (prev. year: EUR 0.3 million). The loss after taxes amounted to
EUR 0.1 million (prev. year: profit of EUR 0.1 million) due to the reversal
of deferred taxes.
In the second quarter, revenue grew by 8.9% to EUR 11.0 million (prev.
year: EUR 10.1 million). EBIT increased to EUR 0.5 million (prev. year: EUR
0.2 million), while post-tax profits remained unchanged year on year at EUR
0.1 million (prev. year: EUR 0.1 million).
Cash flow from operating activities improved to EUR 4.6 million in the
first six months (prev. year: EUR 3.5 million).
Incoming orders in the second quarter amounted to EUR 11.2 million (prev.
year: EUR 10.2 million). At 30 June 2006, the equity ratio of the United
Labels Group stood at 74.4%.

specialising in comicware sold under licence, generated consolidated
revenue of EUR 20.1 million in the first six months (prev. year: EUR 18.5
million). This corresponds to an increase of 8.6%. EBIT increased to EUR
0.4 million (prev. year: EUR 0.3 million). The loss after taxes amounted to
EUR 0.1 million (prev. year: profit of EUR 0.1 million) due to the reversal

In the first six months revenue from the Key Account segment rose by 8.0%
to EUR 14.8 million (prev. year: EUR 13.7 million), while revenue generated
in the Special Retail segment grew by 10.4% to EUR 5.3 million (prev. year:
EUR 4.8 million).
Business in Germany was particularly encouraging. Non-consolidated revenue
generated by the German parent company increased by 17.5%, from EUR 12.0
million to EUR 14.1 million. CEO Peter M. Boder: “Germany is the base of
many of Europe’s leading wholesale and retail operators. Thus, Germany is
one of the most important markets for our company, offering outstanding
prospects for the future. In view of this, I am particularly delighted at
our success in our home market.”
Licence portfolio extended to include “Barbie” and “Dora”
The company’s licence portfolio has been further enhanced, with new themes
joining the family in summer and autumn. Within the area of giftware and
socks, for instance, United Labels will now also be marketing licensed
products featuring “Barbie” (Mattel).
From October 2006 onwards, United Labels will also be selling giftware and
socks featuring “Dora”, an animated preschool TV series (MTV
Networks/Nickelodeon).
