VIB Vermögen AG acquires Bürgerliches Brauhaus Ingolstadt AG

Neuburg a.d. Donau/Munich, April 11, 2006 – VIB Vermögen AG, headquartered
in Neuburg a.d. Donau, is acquiring a 94.45% stake in Bürgerliches Brauhaus
Ingolstadt AG (BBI AG), also a listed company, for a price of EUR 9.5
million. The share package is being sold by Bayerische Landesbank
(BayernLB), which is disposing of this investment as part of its portfolio
streamlining program. BBI AG has a particular reputation as a traditional
brewer of wheat beer in Ingolstadt with its Herrnbräu brand.
In addition to its interest in Herrnbräu, BBI AG has substantial real
estate holdings with a total area of 70,000 m2; the properties have a
usable area of 32,000 m2. They include the brewery site and primarily
commercially used properties in prime, mainly city-center locations in
Ingolstadt and the surrounding district. In addition to restaurants/bars,
the tenants include administrative facilities, physicians, lawyers and
other service providers.
BayernLB is convinced that this transaction represents a good solution for
BBI AG. In VIB Vermögen AG, it has found a strong partner that knows the
region well and is capable not only of managing the real estate
professionally, but also of developing a forward-looking strategy for the
traditional Herrnbräu brewery business.
Claus Paulus, the member of the Executive Board of BBI AG, is pleased that
a company with strong regional roots will be the new majority shareholder.

about the transaction. The acquisition of the majority stake in BBI AG
significantly increases the VIB Vermögen AG Group’s real estate portfolio
to 198,000 m2.

on commercial real estate assets in Southern Germany. Founded in 1993 as a
business partnership, the VIB was converted into a public company in the
year 2000. Since then, VIB Vermögen AG has developed its core competency in

VIB’s portfolio actually comprises more than 40 properties, among them an
