The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Baader Wertpapierhandelsbank AG: Preliminary consolidated earnings for Q1 2006 (IFRS) Unterschleissheim, 13th April 2006 Baader Wertpapierhandelsbank AG is reporting a strong increase in income from ordinary activities from EUR0.6 million in Q1 2005 to EUR18.2 million in Q1 2006. Compared to the first three months 2005 net profit jumped from EUR0.3 million to EUR13.3 million in the first three months 2006. Earnings per share were EUR0.59 on the reporting date (previous year: EUR0.01). The figures contain earnings from sales of Available-for-sale holdings of EUR4.9 million. The improvement in profits was due to substantially higher trading volumes at the stock exchanges. Shareholders’ equity as of March 31, 2006 was EUR140.3 million (December 31, 2005: EUR127.1 million). The Group employed a total of 234 people (previous year: 213 employees). A dividend payout of EUR 0.18 per share (previous year: EUR 0.10) and a capital increase (bonus issue) in the ratio of 1:1 will be proposed to the annual general meeting on July 19, 2006.
