In den ersten sechs Monaten des laufenden Geschäftsjahres verzeichnete die GfN Gruppe ein kräftiges Umsatzwachstum auf 38,1 Mio. DM, nach 9,6 Mio. DM im vergleichbaren Vorjahreszeitraum. Im Ergebnis vor Zinsen, Steuern und Abschreibungen (EBITDA) weist der am Neuen Markt notierte IT-Qualifizierer ein positives EBITDA von 1,5 Mio.DM aus (1. Halbjahr 1999: minus 1,0 Mio. DM). Beim Jahresabschluss 1999 lag dieser Wert noch bei einem Minus von über 4 Mio. DM, was den Turnaround im Kerngeschäft dokumentiert. Zum Stichtag 30.06.2000 liegt das Ergebnis der gewöhnlichen Geschäftstätigkeit bei minus 2,0 Mio. DM (Vorjahr minus 2,7 Mio. DM). Trotz deutlich höheren Goodwill-Abschreibungen von 1,8 Mio. DM (Vorjahr 0,4 Mio. DM), die sich aus den Unternehmensübernahmen der letzten Jahre ergeben, verbesserte damit GfN auch das Halbjahresergebnis. Zum 30.06.2000 beschäftigte das Stuttgarter Unternehmen 225 Mitarbeiter nach 219 zum Jahresende 1999. Für 2000 rechnet der Vorstand mit einem Umsatz in der Größenordnung von insgesamt 75 Mio. DM. Dies erreicht die Gesellschaft obwohl die Tochter ac@demy, welche im Online Training tätig ist, mit ihrem Umsatz um 5. Mio. DM hinter den Planungen bleiben wird. Die Entwicklung im Markt des Technologie basierenden Lernens blieb in 2000 deutlich hinter den Erwartungen zurück. Dennoch wird die Marktentwicklung im Online Training derart positiv bewertet, dass die Gesellschaft sich dazu entschlossen hat weitere 3,5 Mio. DM in die ac@demy zu investieren. Mit diesen Investitionen soll das Angebot der ac@demy erweitert und der Vertrieb ausgebaut werden. Dadurch verringert sich allerdings das für 2000 geplante EBITDA der gesamten Gruppe auf einen Wert von 2,5 Mio. DM. Im Kerngeschäft des Classroom-Trainings werden, wie erwartet, die geplanten Umsätze erreicht. Positive EBITDA in the first half of 2000 GfN with dynamic growth Stuttgart, 31. July 2000. In the first six months of the current financial year, the GfN Group registered a strong growth in turnover to 38.1 million DM as opposed to 9.6 million DM in the same period of the previous year. With regard to earnings before interests, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), the IT qualifier, which is listed on the Neuer Markt, boasts a positive EBITDA of 1.5 million DM (1st six months of 1999: minus 1.0 million DM). This sum lay at over minus 4 million DM in the annual accounts for 1999, and demonstrates the turnaround in main activities. Earnings from normal business activities lay at minus 2.0 million DM on 30.06.2000 (previous year: minus 2.7 million DM). In spite of considerably higher goodwill write-offs to the amount of 1.8 Mio. DM (previous year: 0.4 million DM) resulting from company takeovers of the last few years, GfN was also able to improve its half-yearly earnings as a result. On 30.06.2000, the Stuttgart company had 225 employees as opposed to 219 at the end of 1999. For the year 2000, the board of directors estimates a turnover in the order of 75 million DM in all. The company will achieve this goal, although its subsidiary, ac@demy, which offers online training, will fall short of company expectations with its turnover of 5 million DM. The development on the market of technology-based learning was significantly lower than expected for the year 2000. However, the development of online training on the market is rated so positively, that the company has decided to invest a further 3.5 million DM in ac@demy. These investments should serve to increase the range of services that ac@demy has to offer and to improve sales. This will, however, lower the EBITDA which the whole group is expected to achieve in 2000 to 2.5 million DM.
