The internet agency, antwerpes ag, Cologne (www.antwerpes.de) has presented strong figures at the conclusion of the financial year 2000. The company, which is listed on the Frankfurt New Market (WKN 547100), raised its sales revenues from DEM 8.9 million to DEM 20.2 million or by 127 per cent. Internal growth amounted to 121 per cent. Sales revenues were thus considerably higher than the upwardly revised planned figures from November. The strong trend in business is reflected also in the profit numbers. Instead of a predicted light loss, profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to DEM 0.7 million at the end of the year. Profit before depreciation, interest and taxes (EBITDA) amounted to DEM 2.4 million. Earnings per share (IAS) was equal to DEM 0.16. Financial resources at the end of the financial year amounted to DEM 52 million. The area of business with the strongest sales revenues in 2000 was Communication, with revenues of DEM 16.8 million. Communication comprises the units New Media and Classic Media. This corresponds to a rise of 95 per cent year-on-year. The business area, Tools and Commerce, which comprises the portal DocCheck, product development and e-commerce, grew most strongly in relative terms. Sales revenues rose by 966 per cent from DEM 0.3 million to DEM 3.2 million. The revenues from the on-line shop for medical practice supplies, Albert Geisselmann Medizinbedarf GmbH, which was acquired in the financial year 2000, was incorporated into the consolidated financial statements of antwerpes ag with effect from 17 November 2000 on a proportional basis and thus contributed DEM 0.5 million to the revenues in the business area, Tools and Commerce. For 2001, antwerpes has raised its planned sales by two million marks from DEM 33.8 million to DEM 35.8 million. With regard to EBIT, the company continues to expect profit of DEM 1.2 million.
