AURELIUS subsidiary GHOTEL hotel & living to open new establishment – Essen gains a GHOTEL – AURELIUS finances growth policy – New property is perfect fit with GHOTEL strategy Munich/Bonn, April 27, 2015 – GHOTEL GmbH, a subsidiary of the AURELIUS Group (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8), is expanding again. The Bonn-based hotel operator has taken the first steps in a long-term, new-build project in the heart of downtown Essen. Construction is to start in July 2015, with the official opening scheduled for the beginning of 2017. This means that Essen will boast a modern establishment with 174 rooms and attached conference facilities in less than two years. GHOTEL is to carry out the interior design and outfitting of the property itself, enabling the hotel operator to ensure that the quality and layout will match the expectations of GHOTEL guests. Essen has become one of the leading hotel destinations in Germany. GHOTEL has been a wholly owned AURELIUS subsidiary since 2006. This will already be the third new GHOTEL to come on stream under the umbrella of the internationally active corporate group. AURELIUS will acquire the new hotel property once it has been completed in 2017 and finance the GHOTEL-specific interior design. “We consider it important for us to give GHOTEL the chance to position itself as the benchmark in the modern 3-star segment,” comments AURELIUS Executive Board member Gert Purkert. “To achieve this, establishments, services and design need to be checked, renovated or upgraded regularly. We’re really excited about this next stage in our shared expansion.” The convenient central location of the hotels appeals to both business and leisure travellers alike. The design is modern and functional, while impressing with its warm, relaxed atmosphere at the same time. Free Sky TV is just as much a given as free WiFi in all areas of the hotel. The Netherlands-based Van Wijnen Group is acting as general contractor overseeing all phases of the construction work. The century-old family enterprise is one of the largest construction and project development firms in the Netherlands.
