AURELIUS AG / Key word(s): Expansion
AURELIUS subsidiary Studienkreis celebrates its 60th opening – New branch offices make a significant contribution to the Studienkreis Group’s sales revenue – Further growth in revenue and earnings targeted Munich, June 19, 2015 – The private mentoring provider Studienkreis, a subsidiary of AURELIUS (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8), is successfully pursuing its chosen path of expansion. Since being taken over by AURELIUS at the beginning of 2013, the private tutoring institute has opened 60 new sites in Germany and other German-speaking countries, 33 of which are new locations, 25 branch offices taken over by franchise partners, and 3 other private mentoring institutes. In order to facilitate the expansion, the Group parent AURELIUS has invested a seven figure sum in Studienkreis annually since the acquisition from the Franz Cornelsen Education Group at the beginning of 2013. “We opened 12 branch offices alone in the first half of 2015. Another 22 will follow by the end of the year”, says Stefan Berg, who is responsible for the Expansion segment at Studienkreis. “The revenues of the 60 field offices already opened and the additional branches to be added this year are expected to be three times as high as at the beginning of the year. This confirms our strategy.” “The new branch offices will thus make a significant contribution to growth for Studienkreis”, adds Studienkreis managing director Lorenz Haase. “Together with AURELIUS we have succeeded in reorienting Studienkreis from a difficult position. Thanks to the capital expenditures on the part of our Group parent and the strong commitment of our entire team, we have made Studienkreis fit for the future – something I am proud of.” Studienkreis is also planning a total of more than 50 openings per year for the next few years. “In particular we want to purchase existing private mentoring institutes and continue to operate them under the Studienkreis flag”, says Berg. “Our purchasing interest is focused especially on private tutoring institutes that are located ideally in major metropolitan areas, comprise one or more branch offices, and offer private mentoring for students of all grade levels.” The private mentoring institute Studienkreis established in 1974 meanwhile operates more than 1,000 schools in Germany and other German-speaking countries and counts as one of the largest private education providers in Europe. More than one third of Studienkreis institutes are managed by independent owners. Some have operated for decades and some simultaneously run several schools at different locations.
