Plastipak Packaging Inc. acquires AURELIUS subsidiary Evolve Polymers

– British firm sold to strategic US acquirer Plastipak

– UK polymer activities concentrated in Regain Polymers subsidiary

Munich / London, November 3, 2016 – AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN: DE000A0JK2A8) is selling its Evolve Polymers subsidiary based in Hemswell, UK, to Plastipak Packaging, Inc. Operating out of Plymouth, USA, the Plastipak Group is a leading global producer of packaging, manufacturing products out of PET and HDPE in several state-of-the-art facilities in Europe, the United States, South America, and Asia. Plastipak also operates in the virgin and recycled resin segments in Europe and the US. The two parties have agreed not to reveal the financial details of the transaction.

The AURELIUS Group is to concentrate all its activities in the field of plastic recycling at its Regain Polymers subsidiary based in Allerton Bywater, UK, going forward. Regain Polymers specializes in the development and production of innovative structural components made from recycled plastic waste. Both the demand for resilient materials that can be used to replace timber in railroad construction, road construction and shipbuilding and the volume of recyclable plastics are growing constantly. Regain is set to profit from this trend over the long run.
