Bad Wurzach, April 10th 2008 – Saint-Gobain Oberland increased its group
sales from 413.9 mill. Euro to 467.8 mill. Euro. This is announced in the
2007 Annual Report, which the container glass manufacturer has just
published in Bad Wurzach. The increase of 13 percent was achieved, above
all, due to the increase in domestic sales. The group result after tax also
increased; in the year under report it reached a figure of 36.1 mill. Euro,
following a total of 31.7 mill. Euro the previous year.

In 2007, the previous year’s positive trend in the market for container
glass continued in Germany. Saint-Gobain Oberland was able to benefit from
the increased demand and stabilized its position in the market. In
particular, the trend towards the glass bottle continued in the beer and
wine market. Saint-Gobain Oberland participated in the strong growth of the
East European container glass market via the participations in glassworks
in Russia and the Ukraine.

Saint-Gobain Oberland AG was thus able to fulfil, and in some cases even
exceed, its targets in the 2007 financial year, despite high cost-pressure
- in the raw materials and energy areas. Besides the general market trend,
above all, a major contribution was made here by the intensive efforts of
the company to ensure optimal utilisation of all production capacities,
customer satisfaction, productivity and cost management. Further progress
in terms of efficiency was made possible by future-oriented investments at
the production plants.
From the balance sheet profit of the AG of 23,157,201.34 Euro, it is
planned to distribute 22.0 mill. Euro or 22.00 Euro per share as a
dividend. The remaining sum of 1,157,201.34 Euro will be carried forward.
This will be proposed by the Supervisory Board and Executive Board at the
Annual General Meeting in Bad Wurzach-Ziegelbach on 29th May 2008.
