The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– FilmFour discontinues activities; cooperation partner Senator to use funds released for own projects Today FilmFour, the subsidiary of the English television broadcaster Channel 4 (“Four Weddings and a Funeral”, “Trainspotting”, “Full Monty”), announced that after intensive review of diverse strategic options it was discontinuing its film production and distribution activities. The discussions also took place with the involvement of Senator. In December 1999, Senator Entertainment AG concluded a cooperation agreement with FilmFour which called for joint production and distribution of 21 films. Pursuant to this contract, Senator assumes the exploitation in the German- speaking territories and takes a share in world distribution revenues. “Termination of our cooperation agreement with FilmFour is fully consistent with our strategic orientation which plans the dissolution of output deals and exclusive agreements in favor of single- and own productions and first look deals,” according to Hanno Huth, chairman of the board of Senator Entertainment. “We will use the funds released for our own film productions and selective film acquisitions in the free market-this will give us the opportunity to earn higher profit margins,” continued Huth. Senator will invest primarily in international projects to be marketed and distributed by Senator International, the global distribution organization successfully launched last year.
