Remark:
The operating (loss)/profit for the current period included under this
item is the provision of HK$44 million for loss on disposal of mortgage
assets which was made during the year in respect of the sale of certain
mortgages by the Company to The Hongkong Chinese Bank, Limited ("HKCB")
pursuant to an agreement dated 9th May, 2000 entered into between HKCB and
the Company, which is expected to be completed on 14th August, 2000.
