HK TOY CENTRE<0586> & UNITED PACIFIC<0176> - Suspension

At the request of Hong Kong Toy Centre International Limited ("HK Toy 
Centre") and United Pacific Industries Limited ("UPI"), trading in their 
shares will be suspended with effect from 2:30 p.m. today (17/1/2000) 
pending an announcement in respect of the entering into of an agreement 
between UPI and a third party today involving the possible sale of UPI's 
equity interest in HK Toy Centre.
