Centrica plc – Non-Executive Chairman

Following the announcement that Centrica plc has appointed Richard Haythornthwaite as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 14 October 2013 and as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 1 January 2014, in accordance with the obligations under Listing Rule 9.6.13R, the Company confirms that Mr Haythornthwaite holds or has held the following directorships of a publicly quoted company in the previous five years:

• MasterCard Inc. from May 2006 to current
• Land Securities Group plc from April 2008 to February 2009
