Methanol Chemicals Company announces that it has successfully completed today Monday 30 Rabii II 1432 H corresponding April 4, 2011 the first bulk shipment of Dimethyl Formamide (DMF) product through King Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail Industrial City (KFIP) to the international market. The quantity exported is about 1000 metric tons. Since its commercial operation of its DMF plant commenced on the 28th June 2010, and until now, the company used to export this product by different container sizes and as per the client requirements. This is a major achievement for the company and is considered to be a very important milestone as it significantly reduces the freight cost and increases the marketing efficiency of this product globally.
It is worth mentioning that the annual production capacity of Dimethyl Formamide (DMF) is 60,000 MT, and it is used in the manufacture of many organic chemicals and processes for pharmaceuticals, dyeing and manufacture of resins and the production of artificial leather and paint polyurethane, fibers and thin coatings, adhesives and production of abrasives, detergents and paints.
