Saudi Advanced Industries Company Announces that Al Salam Aircraft Company Limited signed a contract with Syrian Arab Airlines

Saudi Advanced Industries Company (SAIC) announces that it Al Salam Aircraft Company Limited; in which SAIC owns a share of 10% signed a contract on 16 December 2010and not announced until the final approval from Syrian authorities with Syrian Arab Airlines to perform D checks on (2) 747 SP airplanes and to manage the overhaul of (8) JT9D engines. The contract value is $53 million. This is the largest civil aviation maintenance contract awarded to Al Salam and most likely the largest civil maintenance contract ever awarded in Saudi Arabia. The agreement include that both aircraft will be in Al Salam facility no later than January 5, 2011.
