Saudi Advanced Industries Company (SAIC) Announces that on Thursday February 10, 2011 Obeikan Glass Company (one of its affiliates) in which SAIC owns 40% has successfully started the initial phase of its operations with the commencement of the heat-up of the glass furnace. It is the practice in the float glass industry that it will require 4-5 weeks until the furnace reaches maximum heat. So that it can produce floating glass within 2-3 weeks to fine tune the processes for the production of quality glass.
