MOBILY ANNOUNCES INTERIM CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 30 JUNE, 2012 (6 MONTH PERIOD) (CONTINUED1)

Engineer Abdulaziz Saleh Al Saghyir, Chairman of Mobily Board of Directors, said that the increase is attributable to the growth in data revenue which has a (high-margin). Data revenue reached 24% of the total revenue of the first half of 2012 (25% of the total revenue of Q2 2012). The increase in revenue is also attributable to the growth in the business sector revenue and increase in smartphone sales. In the first half of 2012, business sector revenue recorded a growth reaching 63% as compared to the same period last year. EBITDA for the first half of 2012 increased to SAR 3,850 million, as compared to SAR 3,337 million for the same period last year, with an increase of 15% (SAR 2,039 million in Q2 2012 as compared to SAR 1,760 million for the same period last year, and as compared to SAR 1,811 million for Q1 2012). Due to the sales of low-margin smart phones, the EBITDA margin registered 36% during Q2 2012 (as compared to 34% for the same period last year, and 36% for Q1 2012). Net income for Q2 2012 amounted to SAR 1,421 million among the improved operational efficiencies.

Al Saghyir stated that Mobily will continue to expand its fiber optics and (TD-LTE ) network, through its subsidiary Bayanat Al Oula. Al Saghyir attributed the growth to the increase in mobile broadband demand and to the business sector.

More so, Al Saghyir indicated that the increase of smartphone penetration in the Kingdom will boost the companys base for mobile broadband subscribers.

Al Saghyir stated that Mobily will continue to expand its fiber optics and (TD-LTE ) network, which is considered to be the largest in the Middle East, through its subsidiary Bayanat Al Oula. Al Saghyir attributed the growth to the increase in mobile broadband demand and to the business sector.

More so, Al Saghyir indicated that the increase of smartphone penetration in the Kingdom will boost the companys base for mobile broadband subscribers.

Al Saghyir added Mobily has signed a 3-year contract with the Ministry of Education to provide 1,400 schools in the Eastern Province with Broadband devices; previously, Mobily has linked the Ministry of Education headquarter in Riyadh with fiber optics
