Reasons of increase (decrease) for quarter compared with same quarter last year due to the increase in business revenues, higher data revenues, and the improved efficiencies.

Other notes The first half-year revenues totaled 11,600 million riyals compared to 10,687 million riyals for the same period of the previous year, an increase of 9%. Gross profit during the second quarter amounted 2,987 million riyals compared to 2,729 million riyals for the previous quarter, an increase of 9%, and the gross profit margin increased to 50% (compared to 48% in the previous quarter). The EBITDA margin increased to 39% (compared to 35% in the previous quarter). The net profit for the second quarter amounted to 1,611 million riyals, supported by the improved efficiencies, compared to 1,340 million riyals for the previous quarter, an increase of 20%, and compared to 1,421 million riyals for the same quarter of the previous year, an increase of 13%. Earnings per share for the six months amounted to 3.83 riyals, compared to 3.41 riyals for the same period of the previous year. Data revenues increased during the first half of this year to 28% of the total revenues (compared to 25% for the same period of the previous year). The second quarter revenues totaled 5,972 million riyals compared to 5,678 million riyals for the same quarter of the previous year, an increase of 5%, and compared to 5,628 million riyals for the previous quarter, an increase of 6%. The higher revenues of the second quarter compared to the first quarter are attributable mainly to the higher revenues of prepaid services, as well as to a slight increase in the handset sales (which contributed to the increase in profit margins). The recorded revenues of prepaid services increased by 12% during the second quarter compared to the previous quarter. Revenues of fiber-optic and LTE networks recorded during the first half an increase of 89%, compared to the same period of the previous year. In addition, the Company has made great strides to strengthen its infrastructure to meet the increasing growth in demand for data services on one hand, and to target the most promising sectors, most notably the business sector and provide integrated ICT solutions on the other hand.
