DCI AG taps new lucrative market segment
Conrad Electronic GmbH decides in favour of DCI TradeManager
Starnberg, Germany – 12 December 2001. A strategic contract in the mail-order
segment paves the way for DCI AG to tap a new, lucrative market. Conrad
Electronic GmbH, Europe’s largest mail-order company for electronic equipment
and consumer electronics, has decided to deploy DCI TradeManager as its
catalogue software solution. DCI AG sees the move as convincing proof-of-concept
for its TradeManager solution, and is confident that it will send a strong
message to other mail-order companies. DCI AG anticipates a strong increase in
revenue from this segment in fiscal year 2002.
The electronic mail-order catalogue sector is a strategic win for DCI AG in view
of the size of this market. The German mail-order market alone is worth some 42
billion German Marks a year and key players on the German market are set to
help shape the global e-market of the future.
Conrad Electronic GmbH will use DCI TradeManager to electronically distribute
its entire portfolio (some 50,000 articles) to its customers on a CD. The DCI
TradeManager (Catalogue Viewer) gives the user a single, standardised view of
different catalogues and their contents. The standardisation of catalogue
content presents interesting cross-selling opportunities among mail-order
companies.
The DCI TradeManager is targeted at both the business-to-business and business-
to-consumer markets. First introduced in 1993, the current version (Version 8.1)
reflects a host of ongoing improvements and enhancements.
