DCI AG Announces Business Figures for First Quarter of 2003 Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. Today DCI AG announced its results for the first quarter of 2003. Total sales revenue in the months from January to March 2003 amounted to Euro 990,000, as compared to Euro 3.581 million for the same quarter last year. The main reason for this development is that the Group’s report for the earlier period still contained sales revenue from its subsidiary MuK. GmbH, which was deconsolidated on October 31, 2002. The operational result improved from minus Euro 2.693 million in the first quarter of 2002 to minus Euro 1.382 in the present quarter. The Group result amounts to minus Euro 1.308 million (Q1/2002: minus Euro 2.971 million). As of March 31, 2003, the Group had Euro 4.790 in liquid assets. The rigorous cost-cutting program has considerably relieved DCI AG on the cost side: heavily reduced marketing expenditures and focused staff cutbacks, for example, have succeeded in lowering sales costs from Euro 1.167 million (Q1/2002) to Euro 517,000. Owing to the deconsolidation of MuK. GmbH, a significant improvement is also evident in production costs, which dropped from Euro 2.937 million (Q1/2002) to Euro 666,000. The cost cutting and restructuring activities will continue in 2003. Concentration on economically successful or promising business sectors will proceed as before. Moreover, DCI has tailored its products even more precisely to meet its customers’ special needs for support in the sale and promotion of their products.
