DCI AG today announced its result for the third quarter of 2003. On a quarterly basis, consolidated revenues totaled 882,000 Euro compared with 3.080 million Euro in the equivalent quarter last year. Sales revenues amounted to 2.741 million Euro in the first nine months of 2003 compared with 10.334 million Euro for the period from January to September 2002. The decline can for the most part be attributed to the fact that revenues recorded by the MuK GmbH subsidiary deconsolidated at October 31, 2002 were still included in the consolidated financial statements in the prior year period. The operating result improved to minus 751,000 Euro from minus 2.585 million Euro in the third quarter of 2002 (minus 3.010 million Euro for January through September 2003 versus minus 7.525 million Euro for the first nine months of 2002). The consolidated income amounted to minus 970,000 Euro for the period from July to September 2003 (versus minus 2.244 million Euro in Q3/2002) and minus 3.011 million Euro for the first nine months of 2003 (versus minus 7.889 million Euro in the same period last year). At September 30, 2003, the corporate group had liquid assets totaling 3.765 million Euro. The cost-cutting and efficiency enhancement measures continued in the third quarter of 2003 and were largely completed until further notice. The impact on results can already be felt in part and will become fully effective as of the beginning of 2004. Thus, the firm’s financial status has considerably improved, although it has not yet been able to eliminate cash burn.
