The listed venture capital company DEWB AG (Deutsche Effecten- und Wechsel- Beteiligungs-gesellschaft) has taken a 23 percent shareholding in Insonic AG. The start-up financing of the Swiss company is the fifth venture capital investment by DEWB in the current business year. Insonic AG develops and markets voice-activated software solutions for use by financial services companies in telephone communication with their customers. The multilingual system provides for automatic account information queries, general financial information or share prices using standardised dialogues in common use throughout the sector. The facility is also offered for transacting securities business. With the help of the standard software from Insonic financial service providers can achieve considerable increases in efficiency in processing their call volumes and enhance the security of the telephone services. Target clients for the innovative communication systems include in particular direct banks as these have not yet automated their customer dialogue systems which require intensive support. So far one complete system has been installed with a major Swiss bank and this has been operating error-free since then. This makes Insonic one of the first companies to have established a voice- activated, automated communication system with a European financial services provider. Numerous financial service providers have announced that they will be implementing voice-activated automated communication systems within the next few years.
