Lohne, Germany, August 29, 2007 – EnviTec Biogas AG (ISIN: DE000A0MVLS8,
WKN: A0MVLS), headquartered in Lohne in the German state of Lower Saxony,
today announced that demand for its biogas plants remained strong in the
first six months of 2007. In the first half of the year, the company
generated sales of EUR 65.6 million, up 92.4 percent from previous year's
figure (EUR 34.1 million). EBIT grew from EUR 7.6 million to EUR 11.3
million, which corresponds to an increase of 48.7 percent year-on-year. At
the end of the first half year, biogas plants constructed by EnviTec with a
total electrical connected load of 73.4 megawatts were in operation. This
makes the Lohne-based company Europe's largest provider of biogas plants.
Through project companies, EnviTec also operates proprietary plants in
cooperation with partners. Currently, proprietary plants with a total
electrical connected load of 5.8 megawatts are either in operation or under
construction. The company had 241 employees as of June 30, 2007.

As previously, the Management Board assumes that the dynamic market
development will continue in the second half of 2007. The Management Board
expects sales of around EUR 160 million for the full financial year, which
would represent an increase of around 60 percent. Pre-tax earnings are
expected to rise to more than EUR 27.5 million by year's end. The expansion
of EnviTec is driven by the increasing demand from institutional biogas
investors, energy suppliers, foreign customers and by the self-operation of
plants. 'We will invest in the self-operation of biogas plants especially
outside of Germany,' said EnviTec's CEO, Olaf von Lehmden. 'We see
ourselves as being in the pole position in this regard, and we will exploit
the enormous growth potential.' The electrical connected load of
self-operated plants will probably reach 10 megawatts by the end of the
year. The EnviTec Group expects to generate 15 to 20 percent of its
consolidated sales abroad in 2008.

EnviTec is an integrated provider of biogas plants that covers the entire
value chain for the production of biogas, including the planning and
turnkey construction of biogas plants as well as their commissioning. The
company provides the biological and technical service and offers the full
plant and operating management. In Penkun, in the German state of
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, EnviTec is currently constructing what is
expected to be the world's largest biogas park with an electrical connected
load of 20 MWel. Already today, the company is represented through its own
subsidiaries, joint ventures or sales offices in the Netherlands, Italy,
the UK, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Ukraine and India. Furthermore,
EnviTec is in the process of planning and constructing biogas plants in
Belgium, Croatia and Romania.
