Lohne, 20 April 2010. EnviTec Biogas AG has won the first contracts for the
construction of biogas plants in France. The company from Lohne, Lower
Saxony, has teamed up with agricultural firm Le Crom to build a biogas
plant rated for an electrical output of 500 kilowatts in the locality of
Rohan in Brittany. The plant is currently under construction and is
scheduled to be taken into service in the summer. Going forward, the plant
will use the proprietary 'EnviTec Feedcontrol' system. The software-based
system enables biogas plant operators to use their input materials for the
production of biogas even more efficiently. The system allows the feeding
intervals for the input materials to be adjusted automatically to the
desired biogas quantity during operation, obviating the need for manual
adjustment and control. Le Crom will use input materials such as liquid
pig, maize silage and waste from the food industry. The energy generated
will be used by the farm to heat the stables and dry the fermentation
residues. 'Customers who operate their biogas plant with 'EnviTec
Feedcontrol' benefit from a significant cost reduction,' says Roel Slotman,
CCO International of EnviTec Biogas AG. 'EnviTec Feedcontrol' avoids the
excessive use of biological materials and thus helps save resources. In a
500 kW biogas plant such as Le Crom, 'EnviTec Feedcontrol' can help cut
costs by up to EUR 20,000 per year.

Apart from the above, EnviTec Biogas has won contracts for the construction
of biogas plants from three other French customers.

In Ribeauville, the company will build a 1.2 MWel biogas plant for
Agrivalor Energie. In Etreville, a biogas plant with an electrical output
of 1 MW is scheduled to be taken into service before the end of the year. A
1.7 MWel plant will be erected in the south-east of France, in the
community of Romans-sur-Isère. Here, too, 'EnviTec Feedcontrol' will be
used. The plant will produce enough heat to supply the community's
industrial area.

The four projects have a total volume of approx. EUR 12.5 million.

Own biogas plant attracts new customers

EnviTec Biogas and French agricultural firm Le Crom have established a
project company under the name of 'Biowatt' for the construction and
operation of a biogas plant in Rohan. It is the first own biogas plant
operated by EnviTec Biogas in France. The plant will be operated in
long-term cooperation with agricultural and industrial partners from the
region. It will serve as a reference plant to convince additional customers
of the cost-efficiency of biogas production.

'These projects show that our strategy of attracting attention in new
markets with our own biogas plants is paying off,' says Roel Slotman. 'We
focus on the most promising countries, and France is definitely one of
them.' Thanks to the large number of agricultural businesses, France,
which, in fact, has the largest agricultural sector in Europe, offers huge
potential for the company. EnviTec Biogas has a branch with a staff of
three in France and plans to expand its sales organisation in the country.
