HMS Bergbau AG: New Director Finance

– Steffen Ewald assumed responsibility of the Finance division effective 1 September 2014

Berlin, 3 September 2014: The Management Board of HMS Bergbau AG, an international coal supplier with operating expertise of coal mining, transport and trade, has announced its appointment of Steffen Ewald as new Finance Director.

Steffen Ewald, a business administration graduate, began his career at an international medium-sized power plant construction company, where he most recently held the position of a Head of Finance. Following this, he went on to serve as a Head of Finance / authorised signatory at various international companies in the construction and automotive supply sectors. Before transferring to HMS Bergbau AG, Steffen Ewald was responsible for the group finance and reporting division for the German holding of an international media group.

“We are certain that Steffen Ewald is a financial expert who will lead the Finance & Controlling division of HMS Bergbau AG with the necessary energy, but whose expertise will also be of great benefit to us in realising our strategic goals,” Heinz Schernikau, CEO of HMS Bergbau AG, commented.
