MPC Capital subsidiary acquires six premium office buildings Property portfolio consists of six premium office buildings located at Dutch railway hubs Hamburg/Amsterdam, 04 February 2016 – The Dutch subsidiary of the Hamburg based asset and investment manager MPC Capital AG, “Cairn Real Estate”, has acquired the Transit Portfolio from Dutch Basisfonds Stationslocaties C.V. in cooperation with an international institutional investor. The portfolio consists of six high quality office venues located at key railway hubs in the Dutch cities of Utrecht, Breda, Groningen, Haarlem, Leeuwarden and Schiedam, with a total floor space of 52,500 m². Dr Roman Rocke, Board Member of MPC Capital AG, comments: “This acquisition is an excellent addition to our property portfolio. The combination of attractive buildings, strategically located on some of the busiest commuter hubs in the Netherlands and the solid occupancy structure, provide a sound investment opportunity.” All locations are leased to solid and well established parties, among which Dutch governmental agency UWV, the Dutch Central Government Real Estate Agency and the municipality of the city of Schiedam. The portfolio was acquired for an amount of EUR 69 million. Advisor to the buyer was law firm Loyens & Loeff. International property agency Cushman & Wakefield and legal firm Houthoff Buruma advised the seller.
