MPC Capital develops micro-apartments in Berlin
Hamburg/Berlin, May 19, 2016 – The Hamburg asset and investment manager MPC Capital is developing the fifth micro-apartment complex for its student housing platform STAYTOO ( www.staytoo.de ) in the capital Berlin. In collaboration with HD Projektentwicklungs GmbH, it is creating around 150 apartments for students on an approx. 900m² site on Dudenstrasse, in the lively Kreuzberg district. The seven-storey building houses a total floor area of approx. 2,800 m². Completion is planned for autumn 2017 – in time for the start of the 2017/2018 winter semester. “There are currently over 175,000 young people studying at Berlin’s universities, and that figure is bound to increase. So demand for suitable living space is logically high,” commented Rainer Nonnengässer, Head of the Micro Living division at MPC Capital. “Our STAYTOO concept plugs a gap in demand for modern residential solutions offering good comfort at fair prices.” To complement 150 fully fitted-out micro-apartments, there will be central communal areas, a washing lounge as well as parking bays for cycles and cars. The four other STAYTOO projects in Nuremberg, Bonn, Kaiserslautern and Leipzig have already reached the realisation phase. The first STAYTOO apartments will be welcoming their first occupants in autumn 2016 in Bonn and Nuremberg.
