MPC Capital starts 2016 financial year with solid positive result

Hamburg, May 24, 2016 – MPC Capital AG (Deutsche Börse Entry Standard, ISIN DE000A1TNWJ4) has made a successful start to the 2016 financial year. First-quarter revenue for the asset and investment manager that specialises in real assets came to EUR 8.9 million (previous year: EUR 17.2 million). Of this sum, around EUR 7.9 million came from recurring operational management and administrative fees (previous year: EUR 5.1 million). Transaction fees were achieved mainly in the Real Estate sector and reached EUR 1.0 million in Q1 2016. The prior-year quarter had featured exceptionally high transaction fees of EUR 12.1 million generated predominantly by real estate projects in North America.

Both other income and main expense items developed according to plan in the first quarter of 2016. Earnings before tax (EBT) for the first three months came to EUR 3.2 million. In the previous year, the high transaction fees had led to an exceptionally high EBT of EUR 10.4 million.

With liquid funds of EUR 26.3 million (31 December 2015: EUR 16.9 million) and an equity ratio of 55.0 % (31 December 2015: 42.3 %), MPC Capital is excellently equipped to handle further growth. Its focus is on student housing projects, commercial real estate and infrastructure projects.

For 2016 overall, MPC Capital AG reiterates its expectation of revenue growth of at least 10 % and an overproportional rise in the pre-tax result (EBT).

Note: the figures for the first quarter of 2016 are unaudited and have not been subjected to any accounting review.
