MPC Capital subsidiary sells office complex in Amsterdam

– Successful revitalization project leads to significant investment income

– High profile office building created serving among others as Uber headquarter

Hamburg/Amsterdam, 20 December 2017 – Cairn Real Estate, the Dutch subsidiary of MPC Capital AG (Deutsche Börse Scale, ISIN DE000A1TNWJ4), has successfully completed one of its largest revitalisation projects in the Dutch real estate market. On behalf on an institutional investor the office complex in the City of Amsterdam, serving among others as new European headquarters of U.S. driver’s service Uber, was extensively renovated over the last three years and has now been sold to a long-term investor. After the sale, Cairn Real Estate will continue to remain involved in the day-to-day management of the property and its high-profile tenants.

The complex comprises a gross floor area of over 20,000sqm, 195 parking spaces and a multifunctional atrium. Cairn Real Estate and its partners attached particular importance to sustainable use of the office complex during the conversion. In addition to purely technical aspects such as the use of recyclable materials or high energy efficiency, the focus was primarily on future tenants. The aim was to create a dynamic building that meets all the demands of the employees of the future. In addition to Uber and Spaces, the new tenants also include the U. S. e-commerce business Amazon.

MPC Capital is a co-investor in the project. Through the sale of the asset, MPC Capital realizes substantial investment income, including performance-related returns.
