MPC Capital: MPC Container Ships Increases Investment Volume to USD 625 million
Since its foundation in spring 2017, MPC Container Ships has thus raised USD 425 million in equity and another USD 200 million from bond issues from international institutional investors. Within nine months MPC Container Ships has built up a fleet of 44 container ships. A large part of the fleet is managed by the technical ship manager Ahrenkiel Steamship and the charter company Contchart Hamburg / Leer. Both companies belong to the MPC Capital Group. MPC Container Ships was set up by MPC Capital on the basis of a favorable market dynamics for the container feeder segment: Attractive supply/demand patterns in intraregional trade meet historically low asset values for ships, which are protected by high recycling prices. The shares of MPC Container Ships ASA have been traded on the Oslo Merkur Market since May 2017. In January 2018, the company was up-listed to Oslo Axess, the fully regulated marketplace of the Oslo Stock Exchange. MPC Capital is a co-investor in MPC Container Ships ASA.
