Muehlhan expands its existing collaboration with the Huisman Group
• Operation of blasting and coating halls for subsidiary of the Dutch
Huisman Group in China
• Muehlhan performs exacting work for innovative offshore technology
Hamburg, September 5, 2007. For MCN, the Chinese subsidiary of the Hamburg
based company Muehlhan AG (Entry Standard; ISIN DE000A0KD0F7), which was
consolidated as of July 1, 2007, the expansion of Asian activities
continues through the enhancement of collaborations that already exist. In
doing so, the company is able to count on a partner with which Muehlhan
worked closely for many years: The Dutch Huisman Group, a vendor of
heavy-duty cranes and maritime lifting systems, which recently started its
operations at its new production facility at Zhangzhou City in the
southeastern Fujian Province, with an area of 100,000 square meters and
direct access to the international waters. Two ultra-modern blasting and
coating facilities that were equipped with Muehlhan technology are
integrated into the production process. They are operated by Muehlhan as a
fully integrated service provider.
'Muehlhan China will perform surface protection work on offshore cranes and
maritime pipe laying systems there,' says Dr. Andreas Krüger, Muehlhan's
Chief Executive Officer. They will be used primarily for installing
equipment on the sea bed and installation of gas and oil pipelines. The
pipeline is pre-assembled on board and is guided over the stern of the ship
into the ocean. Depths of many thousands of meters and distances of
thousands of kilometers can be bridged in this manner. 'Our customer
Huisman designs and manufactures innovative heavy lifting and offshore
equipment specifically for these purposes. Of course, for the performance
of surface protection during the production process an equally high quality
standard is required.'
With the Huisman Group, Muehlhan has a strong, reliable partner for
business development in China. The collaboration has existed for over 30
years in the Netherlands, and was also extended in last year to Poland, and
now to China as well.
