Muehlhan receives major contract in the Middle East
* Processing of several tens of thousands of weld seams
* Order volume of around USD 4 to 5 million
Hamburg, 9 September 2009 - Muehlhan AG (Entry Standard; ISIN
DE000A0KD0F7), which provides surface protection for steel structures
worldwide, has been awarded a major contract in Qatar. Its Muehlhan Dehan
Qatar (MDQ) subsidiary in Doha, Qatar has been commissioned to blast and
coat several tens of thousands of weld seams at a gas liquefaction plant at
Ras Laffan, the world's largest industrial construction site. The total
contract volume is approximately USD 4 to 5 million. The work should be
completed by March of next year.
Since it was set up three years ago, MDQ has established its reputation as
a provider of high-quality surface protection services in Qatar and is
benefiting from continued strong demand for surface protection for the
production and refining facilities that are under construction at one of
the biggest natural gas fields in the world. Construction of these
facilities will probably take until 2015. In Muehlhan's view, the prospects
for subsequent maintenance work also look very promising.
