- Muehlhan with new shipbuilding site in Asia
Hamburg, 10 May 2011 - In a continuing difficult shipbuilding market, the
Muehlhan AG (Entry Standard, ISIN DE000A0KD0F7) has managed to take on a
new shipbuilding facility in Asia by signing a three-year contract with an
international shipyard customer for a newly built shipyard. The contracting
parties have agreed not to disclose additional details.
With the contract Muehlhan follows the general development of the maritime
markets, which have shifted largely to Asia since the outbreak of the
crisis in late 2008. Since then, both the new construction as well as the
ship repair business in Europe had substantially decreased. Muehlhan
expects to be able to compensate this development with the order, at least
in parts.
