– Reduction of personnel costs by Euro 0.5 million

Wiesbaden, 30 June 2006 – plenum AG (Prime Standard, ISIN DE 0006901002), a
consultancy firm specialising in strategic solutions with a distinct IT
focus for banks, insurance companies, logistics and utilities, and
supplemented by the communications business acquired in 2000, announces:
As part of the Refocusing Strategy and in view of the intended return to
profitability, plenum AG has implemented an efficiency program to reduce
general and administrative costs. Developed over the past few months, this
program is based on a simplified administrative structure which is a result
of the initiated withdrawal from the software-implementation business since
the beginning of 2005 and the company’s focus on the consulting business.
To this end, the number of full-time and part-time employees in the
headquarters was reduced by
42% from 36 to 21. In co-operation with the works council, a social scheme
for lay-offs and a balance of interests were negotiated based on which most
of the terminations were issued on 30 June, 2006. By streamlining processes
and outsourcing administrative and support tasks, personnel costs are
expected to be reduced by Euro 0.5 million per year as from 2007.
Additionally, non-personnel costs have been reduced which, starting in the
4th quarter of 2006, will bring additional savings of at least Euro 0.4
million on an annual basis.
