Ad hoc – Announcement of plenum AG: Core Business `Management Consulting`
continues to grow
- Core business 'Management Consulting' vigorously grows by 35% during
the first nine-month period
- EBIT of EUR 0.7 m in Q3 (thereof: special effect of EUR 0.6 m)
- Business Plan 2008: Growth of approx. 20% and EBIT >6%
Wiesbaden, 13 November 2007 - plenum AG (Prime Standard, ISIN DE
0006901002) generates sales revenues of EUR 6.3 m for the third quarter
ended 30 September 2007 (prior year period: EUR 6.8 m or EUR 5.8 m
exclusive of the software business segment sold at the end of 2006).
Subsequently, plenum's core business - Management Consulting - has proven
to be a decisive growth driver. Sales revenues from this segment climbed
from EUR 7.9 m in 2006 to EUR 10.7 m for the first nine months or 35%. This
growth will also continue into the fourth quarter.
plenum's gross profit significantly rose by over 70% to EUR 5.3 m (prior
period: EUR 3.1 m) as a result of the strong development in the consulting
business. The gross margin of 30% of sales almost doubled (prior period:
16%).
The Communications business receded by approx. 19% to EUR 6.8 m during the
same reporting period (prior period: EUR 8.4 m). Because of the disposal of
the agency, stoll & fischbach, as of 30 September 2006, the adverse affect
on earnings related to the communications business segment's decline in
sales will no longer be noticeable in plenum's financial statements in the
future.
Earnings of EUR 0.7 m improved in Q3 2007 (Q2 2007: minus EUR 0.3 m),
whereby EUR 0.6 m relates to the special effect arising from the separation
from the agency, stoll & fischbach. Consequently, total earnings (EBIT)
were offset during the first nine-month period in 2007.
We anticipate the very positive development in the core business segment -
Management Consulting - to continue. Accordingly, our business plan for
2008 depicts growth of approx. 20% and EBIT of at least 6%.
The company's interim consolidated financial statements for the nine-month
period ending 30 September 2007 will be disclosed on 28 November 2007.
