The IT consulting company realised a turnover increment for the European telecommunications industry of 275 per cent, from EURO 10.5 million to EURO 28.7 million in the “deeming consideration” in the year 2000. Despite the costs for the take-over of the Spanish IT service provider, Polar, in July last year, the group was able to boost the “Deeming EBIT” from EURO 2.1 to 3.3 million. The net earnings per share were increased to EURO 0.49 (previous year EURO 0.29); excluding goodwill appreciation it amounted to as much as EURO 0.65. Thus SHS once again outperformed the analysts’ expectations. This record result is particularly accounted for by the take-over of Polar and the expansion of long-term customer relations. In addition, further key accounts could be attracted in Europe and the ASP business (“Leased software”, “Software from the socket”) expanded. As a result of the consequent pursuit of its internationalisation policy, SHS is now positioned on the four largest telecommunications markets in Europe with branches in Germany, France, Italy and Spain and excellently equipped for the UMTS era.
