The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Increase of total output compared to prevoius year period by 8%, positive EBITDA Munich, May 14th 2002 -Today, SHS Informationssysteme AG (WKN 507240) announces its quarterly results for the first three months of the business year. SHS group achieved a total output of EUR 7,9 mill (previous year: EUR 7,3 mill) and thus was able to reach an increase compared to the comparison period by 8,2 %. In particular the subsidary SHS POLAR was able to win a multitude of new customers through usage of synergy effects in the for SHS important Spanish market. Thus it was able to increase the total output significantly to EUR 4,9 mill. The total output of the German sub-group amounted to EUR 2,4 mill (previous year EUR 3,0 mill) and reached the plan. With earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) from EUR 0,34 mill a strong improvement from 42% compared to comparison period (previous year: EUR 0,24 mill) was achieved. Thus SHS strengthens despite the missing economic upturn in Germany and a further demanding market environment its business. Due to planned amortization of good will of the in 2000 acquired Spanish Polar-group as well as other depreciation a negative result (EBIT) from EUR – 0,58 mill. (previous year EUR -0,15 mill) occurred. The number of employees in the group increased compared to the previous year period by 22% from 455 to 553. While in Germany the number of employees was slightly reduced, SHS POLAR increased the number of employees according to the good market demand to 396.
