SHS AG closes first half year 2003 with agin positive operational result Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Munich, August 14th, 2003 – The IT service provider SHS Informationssysteme AG has gained a total output of 15.1 million Euro in the first six months of 2003 and could keep last year’s level despite the difficult market environment (first six months 2002: 15.5 million Euro). The operational result (EBITDA: Earnings before interest, taxes and depreciation) is positive once more and amounted to 0.3 million Euro in the reporting period (first six months 2002: 0.35 million Euro). The EBITDA would be twice so high, if it wouldn’t be charged by special effects from restructuring measures. The result of the ordinary business activity (EBT) amounted to minus 2.7 million Euro for the first six months of 2003 (first six months 2002: -2.4 million Euro), whereas alone 1.9 million Euro result from planned goodwill amortizations. Within the first six months of 2003 the operational expenses could considerably be reduced to 14.4 million Euro (first six months 2002: 15.5 million Euro). Within the first two quarters of the current financial year the enterprise has undergone a far-reaching restructuring. The costs were lowered so that operational profits are gained even at the present economic weakness. Both the internal structures and the complete service portfolio have been optimised. SHS AG has fully and completely aligned its services with the customer management of enterprises. Single products have been enlarged to complete packages which fulfil the specific requirements of single lines of business. The first response to the extended supply is promising: Both in Germany and in Spain, some enterprises are already shortly before the placing of orders to SHS AG. The IT service provider is therefore very confident that the strengthened sales activities lead to decisive successes within the next quarters.
