SHS Informationssysteme: Ingram Micro optimizes credit risk assesment
SHS software enables Ingram Micro to optimize credit risk assessment and
leverage revenue potential more efficiently
Munich, April 20, 2005 – Munich-based SHS Informationssysteme AG and Ingram
Micro Distribution GmbH, Dornach/Germany, today announced that Ingram Micro
will be using the GUARDEAN and Agency Gateway software solutions from SHS to
optimize its processes ranging from new customer assessments to active credit
limit management. By deploying the SHS software solutions, the IT distributor
will also automate the previously manual process of entering prospects and new
customers. Furthermore, Ingram Micro will introduce permanent credit limit
calculation and monitoring in its customer management operations. The SHS
software solutions enable Ingram Micro to evaluate its customers more
systematically and precisely than credit reference agencies or trade credit
insurers. “GUADEAN puts us in a position to remove growth barriers and to tap
unexploited market potential in the long term,” says Karl-Heinz Müller, CFO of
Ingram Micro Distribution GmbH. “We also expect the SHS solution to reduce
loan application process costs by up to 80 percent and customer management
process costs by at least 15 percent.”
Ingram Micro Distribution GmbH will use SHS Agency Gateway, the only standard
software that accesses data from more than 40 credit reference agencies, to
complement its creditworthiness checks when entering prospective customer
data.
“Credit management is a core expertise of market leader Ingram Micro. We are
extremely pleased that Ingram Micro has selected GUARDEAN as the system
solution to further boost its competitive position”, says SHS CEO Dirk
Roesing.
Due to the slim margins prevalent in the trade business, bad debt losses have
a severe impact on earnings. Granting credit limits reflecting existing risks
is a key aspect in utilizing revenue potential and minimizing bad debt risk.
This is where the SHS solution has its greatest benefit: Thanks to GUARDEAN,
the management always knows exactly how much merchandise it still can ship to
a customer. “GUARDEAN helps wholesalers to fully leverage previously unused
revenue potential,” says Dirk Roesing.
