silent partnership, amount to 4 million euro. bmp made a seven figure
profit from the sale.
The agency, founded in 1999, belonged to bmp’s scope of portfolio companies
since June 2000. During this period, eprofessional developed into one of
Europe’s leading providers in the area of marketing search engines. bmp
supported them in this process not only financially, but also with their
know-how. Today, with more than 50 employees and over 100 advertising
customers, including such well known names as Beiersdorf, Maggi or Otto,
eprofessional ranks amongst the leading German agencies.
The completed sale to the internationally active Zanox.de shows just how
successfully bmp identifies and develops promising companies. Sven
Ossenbrüggen, the bmp partner responsible for eprofessional: “With the sale
now completed, we have reached the end of a very successful and enjoyable
collaboration with eprofessional, the management, their employees and the
shareholders. We are very pleased that in Zanox we were able to find a
buyer who is able to open so many interesting options to the company,
management and employees.”
Christian Petersen, the managing director of eprofessional said, “both the
capital as well as the know-how provided by bmp was of great value for the
successful development of our business.” Thanks to this comprehensive
support, we were able to develop from a start-up team to one of Europe’s
leading full service agencies for search engine marketing.
The CEO of Zanox, Thomas Heßler added, “with the know-how from
eprofessional and our global structure, we will be the first company to
offer a global SEM-API software solution. We will be able to integrate all
the important search engines such as Google, Yahoo! Search, Miva or Baidu.
“We match very well and are in possession of considerable synergies, both
nationally and internationally. This strategic acquisition brings us a big
step forward in the dynamically growing search-engine marketing market.
With eprofessional we are now able to extend our profitability further and
this year reach a turn-over of 100 million euros. eprofessional has an
excellent reputation as a professional search-engine marketing agency,
which is due in no little part to their first class technical know-how”
explained Heiko Rauch, the zanox CFO.
