As part of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts, Tekfen Holding initially conducted a materiality assessment in 2018 to identify its strategic priorities, and reviewed and updated this assessment in 2024. A consolidated materiality analysis covering the Group companies was carried out. Following these efforts, the reviewed risks and opportunities as well as the decarbonization targets were disclosed to the public in the 2024 Sustainability Report. ESG-related risks are regularly monitored by the Committee for the Early Identification of Risks within the scope of the Corporate Risk Management activities. In addition, environmental risks and opportunities have been reported under the CDP framework since 2017, and the integration of climate change and water management into business strategies has been publicly disclosed through CDP and sustainability reports.

At Tekfen, the highest level of governance responsibility for sustainability-related matters rests with the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors plays an active role in setting the sustainability strategy, establishing related policies and targets, allocating the necessary resources, and integrating climate change–related risks and opportunities into the Company’s overall strategy. The Board of Directors has delegated the responsibility for oversight and guidance regarding the development, implementation and monitoring of the sustainability strategy to the Sustainability Committee. The activities carried out under the leadership of this Committee ensure that the Company’s sustainability agenda progresses in a systematic, structured and results-oriented manner. The Committee is chaired by the Group Companies President. Under the leadership of the Group Companies President, five separate sub-working groups focusing on environment, people and society, innovation, sustainable finance, and sustainable production operate in a coordinated manner to achieve the Company’s sustainability objectives through an interdisciplinary collaboration approach. Tekfen Group companies support women’s participation at all levels of working life and implement various initiatives aimed at increasing women’s employment. Recognizing domestic violence as a fundamental violation of human rights, Tekfen published its Policy on Combating Domestic Violence in 2020 and, in line with this policy, began providing a 24/7 Domestic Violence Support Line to its employees in 2021. In addition, the Tekfen Foundation provides microfinance support to women, in cooperation with the Turkish Foundation for Waste Reduction (TİSVA), in order to create alternative income opportunities for women.

Ethical principles form the foundation of the way business is conducted at Tekfen. The Group provides training to its employees on business ethics rules and on combating bribery and corruption. In order to manage risks that may arise from non-compliance with national and international legislation, internal procedures and ethical principles, coordinated efforts are carried out by the Legal departments of the Holding and Group companies. Tekfen Holding has an Ethics Committee responsible for the implementation and monitoring of business ethics rules. In 2018, an “Ethics Hotline” was established to enable employees to report violations of ethical principles. Reports submitted through the hotline are collected by an independent third-party company, and the corrective and preventive actions to be taken following the evaluation process are monitored by the Holding Ethics Committee.
