The transition plan envisages a 27% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions stemming from production activities by 2030, a reduction of 35% in 2035 and a reduction of 49% in 2040, based on 2017 levels, and to continue activities to be carbon neutral by 2050. In accordance with the Board Diversity Policy adopted in March 2021, the target of achieving a 25% female membership rate on the Tüpraş Board of Directors within 5 years has been achieved in 2024, and the rate of female members on the Board is 27% by the end of the year.

Tüpraş reports its activities in this field to the Board of Directors through the Corporate Governance Committee within the scope of the Sustainability Principles Compliance reporting. The energy consumed in our refineries is reported directly (natural gas, fuel oil, fuel gas, coke, diesel, zero-carbon electricity, etc.) and indirectly (electricity, steam, etc.) on a breakdown basis, but the distribution of energy after use is process-specific metrics specific to heat and cooling, and it is not reported in a breakdown way as indirect energy production. As a matter of fact, due to the fact that refineries have a very complex and integrated structure, the flow to heating and cooling and calorific value measurements for each process unit are not healthy and/or easy to separate. For this reason, energy consumption is reported directly and indirectly on the basis of the main source based on the most reliable measurement. Electricity generation quantities are reported to institutions such as EMRA/TEİAŞ through the system, as it is an activity subject to license.
