In the context of the Environmental and Social Impact Management Policy within the Loan Processes, the Environmental and Social Risk Management System is applied for loan applications of 20 million USD and above. During the environmental and social risk assessment stage, companies are required to provide annual greenhouse gas emission data. In the subsequent stages, it is aimed to fulfill different types of information requests using this infrastructure as needed. In 2023, VakıfBank became the first Turkish Bank to establish SBTi validated targets and launch a Climate Transition Plan. VakıfBank has set targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its loan and investment portfolio, specifically related to electricity generation project financing, commercial real estate loans, and electricity generation loans by 2032.In addition, our target for setting SBTi goals for greenhouse gas emission reduction until the year 2027 for our commercial and corporate credit portfolio with a duration of more than one year has also been approved by SBTi.
