5 November 2025 -- ReFuels N.V., a leading European supplier of renewable
biomethane (Bio-CNG) for the decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs),
today published Bio-CNG station data for October 2025.
* A record 5,664 tonnes of Bio-CNG were dispensed from CNG Fuels' 16 public
access refuelling stations, up 17% from 4,859 tonnes in October 2024 (14
stations)
* Average daily dispensed volume reached a record 183 tonnes, compared to 157
tonnes per day in the year-earlier period
* A daily average of 2,131 vehicles refuelled across the station network, an
increase of 17% year-on-year
* Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 28 pence,
up 28% compared with 21.9 pence in October 2024 and 24.8 pence in September
2025
"CNG Fuels continues to deliver steady volume growth on an aggregate and daily
dispensed basis as Bio-CNG increasingly is recognised as the leading
decarbonisation solution for UK heavy goods vehicles. The underlying market
drivers remain strong with several large operators announcing new truck
orders, taking advantage of biomethane's substantial cost and environmental
advantage over diesel and HVO. Furthermore, the RTFC price increase provides
additional positive momentum into the year-end season," said Philip Fjeld, CEO
and co-founder of ReFuels.
CNG Fuels had 168 unique customer fleets refuelling across the network in the
three months ending 31 October 2025, compared to 164 in the same period last
year.
In addition to Bio-CNG dispensing, CNG Fuels generates revenue from sales of
Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs). The average price per RTFC in
October was 28 pence, up from 24.8 pence in September and 21.9 pence in
October 2024. RTFCs are awarded at a rate of 3.8 certificates per kilo of
Bio-CNG dispensed and sold to fuel suppliers with a blending obligation under
the UK's Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) scheme.
CNG Fuels supplies biomethane through a growing network of refuelling
stations, currently operating 16 public access Bio-CNG stations strategically
located on major UK trucking routes. Two additional stations are under
development -- one in South Wales near the M4, offering direct access to key
east--west freight corridors, and one in Swindon, supporting efficient
transport between London, South Wales and the Midlands.
ReFuels provides monthly operational updates, normally released within ten
working days after the end of each month.
