Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG / Key word(s): Product Launch
25 February 2013 Telefonica Deutschland launches its new O 2 Blue tariff portfolio in March and will bring LTE to all high speed areas by mid 2013 MUNICH. Telefonica Deutschland redesigns completely its tariff portfolio: the new O 2 Blue is coming on 1 March. The four options differ mainly by data volume. Users will now be able to make calls and send texts to all German networks for free with each of the smartphone rates. 'With the new O 2 Blue rates we are getting rid of the telephone minute. After O 2 Genion and O 2 o, we're starting the third revolution in German mobile communications,' René Schuster, CEO of Telefónica Germany, says. 'We are the first German network operator that is gearing its entire rate portfolio towards the data needs of its customers. Calls and SMS are unlimited with all rates.' For the high-speed rate O 2 Blue All-In XL with 5 GB at full LTE speed, there is even 14 days of surfing abroad and two multicards for laptops and tablets included for less than 50 euros. The O 2 Blue All-In L includes 7 days of data usage abroad in the EU in addition to 2 GB of data volume at full speed. A landline number is included with every rate so that O 2 customers can be reached inexpensively. Rates can be booked online, via the hotline and in all O 2 shops. There's also the new O 2 Blue for the self-employed, freelancers and entrepreneurs with special advantages. Those who cleverly combine their mobile and landline products will save up to an additional 10 euros per month with the combo offer. Customers will find the right smartphone at O 2 My Handy. With the HTC One they'll get for example a high-end LTE device for just 661 euros that also includes a free pair of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones valued at 99 euros. More information about the new O 2 Blue is available at: www.o2.de/blue and www.o2business.de/blue In 2013, O 2 customers in all high-speed areas across Germany will benefit from super-fast mobile Internet. Munich and Berlin go live on 31 March, with Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Duisburg and Essen to follow in the second quarter. In parallel, the LTE network is being strengthened in the already developed high-speed areas Frankfurt, Cologne, Nuremberg, Dresden and Leipzig. 'Alongside the roll-out, the development in the LTE network is a key priority this year,' says René Schuster, CEO of Telefónica Deutschland. 'VoLTE represented a breakthrough for us under real conditions, allowing us to offer customers best sound quality and reliability for their calls in the future.' The new O 2 Blue rates at a glance
