Telefónica Deutschland signs a new financing contract with European Investmentbank (EIB) in amount of EUR 450 million

Telefónica Deutschland has signed its first financing contract with EIB on 13 June 2016 with an amount of EUR 450 million via its subsidiary Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG.

Funds will be used to finance the investments in the consolidation, modernization and expansion of the mobile network after the acquisition of E-Plus Group. The objective is to offer the customer countrywide innovative advanced mobile broadband services. Funds provided by EIB have a tenor of up to 8 years.

After the successful placement of the syndicated loan facility of EUR 750 million in March 2016 and the repayment of the remaining intercompany loan of Telefónica S.A. group in April 2016, the new EIB facility is another important milestone on the way to a diversified, independent and cost efficient financing profile.
