Munich, 31 August 2018 Telefónica Deutschland announces O 2 Free portfolio update Today Telefónica Deutschland announces the update of its O 2 Free tariff portfolio from 6 September 2017. The new tariff plans for the premium customer segment present the evolution of the company’s successful data monetisation strategy and place a clear focus on stimulating data growth in the German mobile market. The portfolio will consist of the following tariffs: – O 2 Free S: Unlimited voice, SMS and 1 GB of high-speed LTE data for EUR 19.99 per month – O 2 Free M: Unlimited voice, SMS and 10 GB of high-speed LTE data for EUR 29.99 per month – O 2 Free L: Unlimited voice, SMS and 20 GB of high-speed LTE data for EUR 39.99 per month – O 2 Free XL: Unlimited voice, SMS and 25 GB of high-speed LTE data for EUR 49.99 per month O 2 Free customers will continue to benefit from a 3G flat at 1 Mbps once the included high speed data volume has been consumed. After the launch of O 2 Free last year, this portfolio update is the next logical step in an increasingly digital world. Mobile data consumption is rising quickly. In the second quarter of 2017, O 2 postpaid LTE customers on average consumed 48% more data than just a year ago. Furthermore, the O 2 15-year anniversary promotions were well received by new and existing customers, enabling them to use significantly more high-speed data. O 2 Free 15 customers now already use over 4 GB per month, driven by music and video streaming. The new O 2 Free pricing portfolio puts an end to compromises in digital life. With the clear focus on larger data packages, Telefónica Deutschland is setting a new standard for mobile freedom.
